Outdoor Learning

Welcome to the Outdoor Learning page.  Here we will share all our adventures as we learn outside at Forest School. Through our exploration we are learning about the natural environment, ourselves, and building relationships with each other.

Our names are Emma and Paige and we lead the outdoor learning at Red Kite. We love exploring outside with all our learners and developing our curiosity together. We hope you enjoy looking at all our adventures as much as we have enjoyed having them.

This is our on site Outdoor Learning area.

Green Trees Award.

The Green Trees for School award is recognition from the Woodland Trust of our schools commitment to outdoor learning. The award is given at different levels for the amount of time spent outside, learning about nature and having fun. You complete different projects to get points towards the different levels of awards.

This year almost all of our learners have spent time at forest school participating in activities earning points towards our award. Daisy class celebrated May Day in the woods and decorated the trees using colourful ribbons. Snowdrops also decorated the trees, giving them faces to show how happy trees make us. Cornflowers designed their own tree champion super heros, Weasels looked at the woodlands from different points of view taking photographs, Hedgehogs and Fieldmice explored "A Midsummer Night's Dream" making potions in the forest. All our visits to the woods and exploration that Daffodils, Bluebells, Squirrels and Poppies class had added up to lots of points!

This meant that The woodland Trust has awarded us with the GOLD green trees for schools award.
