We were very busy celebrating Easter! We made Easter bonnets and had a parade with Poppies, we made chocolate Easter egg nests, made sensory Easter chicks and lots more Spring themed activities.
RED NOSE DAY
We had a great time celebrating Red Nose Day. We wore clothes that make us happy and made a red nose to stick on a photo of our faces! We made choices about which red items we would like and even made red noses for our gingerbread men!
SUPERHERO LOGOS AND CAPES
Continuing our learning about the roles of superheroes and choosing our own superhero powers, we created our own superhero logos! In Maths we also used shapes to print and create a superhero cape! We worked hard to identify each shapes, feeling and discussing their characteristics.
THE ROLES OF SUPERHEROES
We learned about the roles of different superheroes and what their superpowers are like. We felt the sensation of flying with the parachute, used the torch to help us see in the dark, sprayed water to put out fires, and knocked down towers with our super strength! We then used visuals to decide what super powers we would have if we were superheroes!
We explored lots of colourful fruits using our senses. We worked hard to use of motor skills to cut the fruit and we even got to blend it! We has great fun and our smoothies were delicious! Some of us even had an extra helping of watermelon, yum!
To start our topic based learning this term we looked at different superheroes and made our own masks! It was tricky handling all the different resources and using our fine motor skills to pick them up. We worked so hard and felt invincible!
NATIONAL FOOT DAY
Daisy Class had so much fun celebrating 'National Foot Week!' We used our communication skills to choose which activities to participate in: painting with our feet, having a foot massage, using the foot spa or making music with our feet! These activities helped us with our communication development, gross motor skills, and expressive and creative skills!
