Rebound Therapy

We are very excited to be able to offer Rebound Therapy as part of our KS4/5 Movement Option for our Pathway One learners.

Rebound Therapy works by using the trampoline as an energy responsive surface that interacts with the body. As the trampoline is a deliberately unstable surface, every movement the user will experience changes in their environment, stimulating their respiratory, muscular and nervous systems in a safe way.

Rebound Therapy is used to facilitate movement, promote balance, aid muscle tone, promote relaxation, promote sensory integration, improve fitness and exercise tolerance, and to improve communication skills. Rebound Therapy can be used for individual physical goals and, most of all, it is incredibly fun and motivating!

'Rebound Therapy' describes a specific methodology, assessment and programme of use of trampolines to provide opportunities for enhanced movement patterns, therapeutic positioning, exercise and recreation for a wide range of students with additional needs. At Red Kite, we have Pre Entry level AQA Unit Awards linked to this therapy, although should our offering expand to KS3 and below, we would also use the Winstrada Development Programme for assessment and recording purposes to celebrate the achievements of our learners.

Rebound Therapy is delivered by the qualified Rebound Therapist. If you have any questions, please contact Jess on jessica.lines@redkite.school
