URGENT UPDATE - CORONA VIRUS 18th March
It is with regret that due to a member of our external school community being “highly likely” to have had the Corona Virus we are closing Red Kite Special Academy with immediate effect for the next 14 days. I would like to reassure you that this not a child or member of our staff.
This decision has been made following advice from the DfE and Public Health England. There is no need to self-isolate unless you display any symptoms but please follow government advice to limit your social contact.
Our review date of this situation is the 2nd April, when a decision will be made about reopening will be made and posted on our school website. This will be following Government guidance.
During these uncertain times we continue to have you and your family’s best interests at the heart of all that we do. Every Monday that we are closed you will receive a welfare/check in phone call from your child’s class teacher; just to have a catch up and see how you and your child are.
If you need further support while self-isolating due to Covid-19 we will, try our hardest to support you for example to pick up shopping, medication or urgent supplies. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Whilst we are well we will do our utmost to be able to offer this service and support
If your child is unwell please contact NHS 111 to seek advice. I would like to remind you about simple measures you can take at home to prevent infections from spreading:
- Catch your cough or sneeze in the crook of your elbow or use a tissue. Then bin the tissue, wash hands for at least 20 seconds with soap, or use a sanitiser gel.
- Wash hands often with soap and water regularly.
- Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
General information about COVID-19 is available on the PHE website: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-information-for-the-public.
Should you need to contact me directly during a period of school closure then my email address is email@example.com
