Return to school on 24th November 2020

Dear Parent’s, carers and families;

Firstly I hope that you and your families are all safe and well.

We are really looking forward to returning to school on the 24th November; Weasels class will reopen on the 25th November.

As you know making the decision to close the school was so difficult for me but adhering to the recommendations from PHE  left me with no choice. Myself and all of the staff are really desperate to reopen and resume some normality again!

Sadly we have had five staff test positive for Covid -19 and all bar one we do not believe became infectious through transmission at school. We believe that our prompt action and proactive approach to hygiene and cleaning is effective in helping us prevent any in school spread. Several of the staff have been quite ill and are taking their time to recuperate before they will return to work when they are well and symptom free. I know that you will join me in wishing them well.

We have re looked at our risk assessments and have made some minor amendments to keep our children and young people and our staff safe in school.

Your child will now only be collected and bought out to you at the start and end of the day by a member of their class team. This may mean that it takes us a little bit longer but the aim is to keep contact amongst us all to the minimum.

Meadows families – please continue to socially distance at the main gate if you walk to school.

Woods families – please can you stand near the bike stands so that we can avoid congestion and a staff member will come to you.

Please continue to send in your packed lunches in throw away bags – this really does help us.

Our children have been amazing and resilient and are a joy to work with; to keep us all as upbeat as we can the following are dates for your diaries;

11th December – Christmas jumper/dress/hat day!

18th December – Elf Day (costumes/hats/pajamas all welcome!)

So, as we move towards December and things feel a bit bleak let’s all continue to work together to support and care for everyone. We continue to be here for you all and thank you for your support.

Kindness, compassion and patience.

Stay safe and well,

Donna Luck
