End of year newsletter - 17.07.2020
Dear Red Kite families,
It shouldn’t be this way – yet here we are. I’ll say ‘have a lovely summer’ to you all via our whole school Birds Eye View! And you all– spread out across the local towns that make up our community catchment area – will read this from your homes, missing no doubt the friendship, hugs and love that usually surrounds the end of term break up!
But! We made it!! This has truly been a year for the record books. In some ways, it has been the most memorable year of our lives and in others it has been one of the most challenging. We know how hard this has been for our staff, children and our families. I know that you will join me in thanking everyone who has supported us through this time.
It is sad that our students won’t get to say goodbye for the Summer to their friends, and school staff. Red Kite is a special place because of our community that can lean on each other in times like this. It’s a community of hope that was founded upon the notion that learning could and should be different and that we focus on what matters—you and your children!
I am truly grateful for all the efforts that have gone into the months of being at home. I am humbled by what you have done at home to support your children and I look forward to being together again.
We may not be able to gather together in the same space yet, but we’ve built a community that distance and disaster cannot break. That might be the greatest achievement of our new school.
Given the fact that I don’t know exactly what school will look like in the Autumn Term I will update you via our school website but I will give you plenty of notice!
Once again, I want to say thank you for all you’ve done to support Red Kite this year. We look forward to seeing you again when it’s safe and for what will be another incredible school year.
I have missed you and your children greatly. I wish you all the very best for whatever comes next; for safer, happier times and to seeing you all in September.
With sincere appreciation for this incredible community we have built.
Stay strong and well
