End of half term Newsletter 23rd October 2020
Dear parents and families,
There has been so much to celebrate since we returned to school and it is worthwhile reflecting on what we have achieved so far.
We have successfully restarted the school after a significant period of closure. Re-establishing learning routines and behaviour expectations, introducing new systems for keeping everyone safe and making our school feel as normal as possible has been a superb achievement. It has taken a huge effort from everyone across the team to achieve this. The most pleasing aspect of our return to school has been seeing your children coming in with smiles on their faces and enjoying their lessons.
I am delighted that our school has been recognised by the Safeguarding Alliance for our contributions to safeguarding during the Covid -19 pandemic and we are proud to display the award in school!
We have been fortunate that we have been able to remain open for the majority of this term - we know there are likely to be occasions next term when we may have to temporarily close– this is hugely frustrating for us in school and I know how difficult it is for parents and families too. It is important we all continue to do everything we can to observe the government guidance and keep each other safe and I cannot thank you enough for your prompt support when we do need to close.
If your child develops Covid-19 symptoms over the half term break then please either get them tested or self-isolate. If they test positive please let us know asap by emailing email@example.com
We now have a week’s break from school. Whilst we have only been back for this term I can see that we are all ready for a break! I think it has been a remarkable achievement to be open and to operate as safely as we have. I have never seen a group of people work in such a determined fashion over a sustained period and it is important that they now take a break with their families over half term.
Thank you for your continued support of our school. Take care and stay safe.
