Closure of Daisies and Poppies Class 10.11.2020

Advice to All Parents - Single case –POPPIES AND DAISIES CLASSES CLOSURE

Dear Parents and Carers

We have been made aware of a member of our school staff who has tested positive for COVID 19 and who has worked directly with these two classes.

We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

We are advising all staff and children that they must stay at home for 14 days and self-isolate.

We are working hard in school to limit the spread of the virus and we have implemented many measures to protect students and staff. Under our safety plan, classes have been isolated into zones at lunch time and within department bubbles each day. Sanitisers are used throughout the day by students and staff and we are encouraging the highest standards of hand and respiratory hygiene. All staff wear masks or shields all day and visitors are kept to the absolute essential only.

The safety and learning of our school community remains our primary concern. Please continue to take care, be vigilant and to follow national guidance.

Symptoms

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:

  • a new continuous cough

  • a high temperature

  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

If your child does develop symptoms, you can seek advice from the nhs.uk website at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/check-if-you-have-coronavirus-symptoms/. If you are concerned about your child’s symptoms, or they are worsening you can seek advice from NHS 111 at https://111.nhs.uk/ or by phoning 111.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours faithfully

Donna Luck
