  • SEND IASS North Northants FutureFest: Preparing for Adulthood Event

    Published 06/11/25

SEND IASS will be hosting a Preparing for Adulthood event which is due to take place next year on Thursday 23rd April 2026. This will be an exciting, interactive event for young people aged 13+ with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and their parent-carers.

Unlike traditional information events, we want our FutureFest to be lively, interest-led, and hands-on. It will be a celebration of possibilities for young people as they explore their next steps in education, employment, training, health, community life, and independent living.

Important Safeguarding Notice: Children’s “Spy” Books

We want to make you aware of a recent issue affecting some popular children’s books by Andrew Cope, including the Spy Dogs, Spy Cats, and Spy Pups series.

Some editions of these books include a printed web address at the back. This link used to go to the author’s website, but the domain is no longer under his control. It has since been taken over by another party and now leads to inappropriate adult content.

The publisher, Puffin, has paused sales and distribution of the books and is working with schools, libraries, and retailers to remove copies from circulation. They have stressed that the website has no connection to the author or publisher.

  • SEND Improvement Workshops & Meet The Teams

    Published 23/09/25

We warmly invite parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25 with SEND, as well as professionals who work within this field, to join us.

We warmly invite all parents and carers of children and young people aged 0–25, along with professionals working in the SEND field, to join us for this important event. This workshop will focus on co-production – exploring what it means to you and how we can work together to shape SEND services in North Northamptonshire. We will also be sharing the results of the 2025 Parent/Carer SEND Survey, discussing how your feedback will be acted upon, and how progress will be monitored moving forward. It’s also a great opportunity to meet the SEND teams face-to-face, ask questions, and build stronger connections.

Together, we can make SEND services work better for children, young people, and families

Whether you can help plan events, share ideas, or simply lend a hand now and then, your support will make a real difference.
