Autumn Term

We have been really creative in class this week making lots of different Christmas crafts and really enjoyed dressing up for Elf day.
We met two amazing elves who we could have our photo taken with. We were all so excited and really enjoyed seeing them.
Hedgehogs class have been very busy making Christmas wrapping paper for the secondary virtual Chritmas Fayre. It has been messy, full of glitter and required lots of colour and creativity!
In our music lesson, we worked in pairs to create our own piece of music on the keyboards using specific keys. We also learnt about the history of creating music and how it has changed over the years.
Hedgehogs class have worked super hard this term to earn their big picture treat! As a class, we decided to make delicious pizzas and we watched Home Alone whilst sitting on the beanbags.
This term Hedgehogs have been learning about road safety. We went out into the local community to practice crossing roads safely and looking out for traffic. We also stopped off at the park and had some fun!
In Hedgehogs class we love to read! Every day we read at school and we have a wide range of books to choose from. In literacy, we have been reading books in small groups, answering questions about the story and then finding evidence in the text.

Functional skills - washing

In our functional skills lesson, this term Hedgehogs have been learning how to sort out the laundry. We learnt how to use a washing machine, how to hang out our clothes to dry and how to pair up socks.
For World Mental Health Day this year Hedgehogs dressed up in yellow and completed lots of activities around mental health. One activity we enjoyed was finding lots of yellow things in our classroom and making props so that we could have a class photoshoot.

The School Guinea Pigs - Pumpkin and Spice

Hedgehogs class love it when Pumpkin and Spice come to visit. We enjoy getting them out of their cage and holding them.
On our first week back to school we enjoyed making slime and playdough by following a set of instructions. We also made bread in the shape of hedgehogs!
In Hedgehogs class we really enjoy being outside. We love running the daily mile and using our new outdoor classroom to read and complete our maths work too!

Team work- who can build the largest tower from spaghetti and balance a marshmallow on top?

During our first week back at school we were given a challenge. We had to work in teams to see who could make the tallest tower made of spaghetti and balance a marshmallow on top of it without it falling over!
